Guys, Could you chance me for transferring to the following colleges? Brown, UCLA, UMD, Berkeley, NYU, UCSD, Amherst, Bates, GeorgeTech, University of Georgia, University of Notre Dame, Tufts, Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, Emory, Rice, U of Texas at Austin, UW Madison, U of Boston, Swarthmore. Profile: International Junior Transfer Major/s: Mathematical Economics (Math/Econ) or Mathematics and Economics (Dual) (for Brown, it's APMA) SAT: Haven't attended yet, should be within 2000 - 2250 GPA: within the 3.8 bracket Transferable GPA: 4.0 Average grade: A It got to the 3.8 level due to excessive pressure from workplace in the last semester, which resulted in some Bs (B = 3.3), and got really sick in the night before one's final, which resulted in a C+ (C+ = 2.3). ECs and Achievements: 1. Stood 10th in the admission test of current college, got a 100% merit based tuition fee waiver. 2. Winner of a regionally renowned applied Social Service Competition. 3. Finalist of a Financial Modeling Competition and semi-finalist of a load of other business competitions, like case solving, campaign designing etc. I always tended to be the youngest participant standing in those rounds, having been participating in these from the very freshman year. These are usually intended for seniors. 4. A 6 month internship at a business consultancy firm in sophomore year. Was the youngest intern to be recruited. I had to manage both studies and work simultaneously. Learned about every corner of Market Research. 5. Sub-executive of the Finance Club of the current college. Youngest member to be sub-executive. Was the youngest founding member of the club myself to start with. Sub-executive board, usually intended for juniors, is just below the executive board, which consists of the President and other VPs. Have organized lots of events and member development programs. 6. Research Assistant to a faculty member, conducting a study in the field of Risk Behavior for Startups. 7. Contributed in current college's first finance research journal. 8. Numerous blogs and articles related to my field. 9. Freelance writer. 10. Tutored mentally challenged younger brother to do good in the national high school exams. Reason for transferring: My recent college doesn't offer any concentration in Mathematics, and I need it, or more precisely, I want it. I want to pursue higher studies in the field of financial computations. It also lacks in offering higher level mathematical economics courses due to a very few of the students wanting to take those electives. A bit of about the current college: Top private university of the country. It's ACBSP accredited. To be honest, I never really planned for this transfer from the beginning. I love economics and mathematics. In my country, there is a tendency among the usual parents to force their children to go for engineering or medicine. Mine had the same tendency. I fought everyone at that time to be here today. If I’m not so good for the above mentioned colleges, please don’t hesitate to suggest me some names.
