I am currently a sophomore at Davidson College and am looking to transfer. I am a division 1 athlete, but due to a career ending injury I will no longer be able to play, and therefore am looking to transfer. The problem, however, is I have a low gpa of 2.83. I have taken hard classes at a competitive college, but I know a B- average will keep me from being accepted to most competitive schools. Will having strong extracurriculars from a prestigious college increase my chances of acceptance? What are some schools within reach for me? If I want to go to a large, competitive school like University of Virginia, are there any things I can do to increase my chances of admission, such as enroll in a community college for a semester to boost my gpa? My high school stats are strong, with a 4.0 gpa and 33 ACT, but I'm not sure how much influence that has on an application. Any advice or input is appreciated!
