My brother is planning on transferring from Cal State Bakersfield (CSUB) to a community college: either San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) or Bakersfield college (BC). He was kicked out of his first major after being so close to completing it, so instead completed a B.A. in another major. However he now wants to complete his original major, but now at a community college. When he applied to BC, they said they would accept all his courses However, SJVC refused to accept many of the necessary pre-requisites.
He was confused and distraught over this refusal, considering they were both semester-system colleges. Did SJVC make a mistake? Or worse, is it possible BC made a mistake and no one will catch the mistake until it's too late? So I offered to use ASSIST to figure this out...
The problem is that I can't find an option in ASSIST to transfer from cal states/universities to community college. I found SJVC's articulation information here ( http://static.sjvc.edu/_downloads/docs/ArticulationFAQs.pdf ) ; they recommend using ASSIST yet ASSIST doesn't even list them, from what I can see. Furthermore I can't seem to find information about IGETC on the linked website which should apparently have the information
Could anyone help us?
