Reporting all CC grades when transferring?

First off, I apologize if I'm in the wrong form, I'm new! My first two years at a Cali CC I did horribly. My last semester I ended with an overall gpa of 1.43. I got my act together and switched Cali CC's, started with a clean slate and I now have a 3.8 in my current college. I plan on transferring to a University in California next year, but I'm just anxious my grades from my first CC will ruin my chances. However, I do know someone who transferred last yearr with the same type of story as myself. He did not add the bad CC grades and he got into every single college he applied to. Any advice?
