Gap Year before transfer and ACT/SAT Scores. Please Help!

Hello, I finished my first year at Washington University in St. Louis. I plan to take a gap year before applying for transfer and experience various opportunities. I am asian, and I have an ACT score of 33, with a 4.0 GPA at WashU. I am wondering whether it would be worth it for me to take the ACT again and shoot for a 35+ to up my chances. I unfortunately did not get in to the schools I wanted to this year. From what I understand, schools do not require an ACT score if you are transferring for your junior year; however, even though I technically have two years off, I would be applying for my sophomore year. So, I would have to submit my ACT score again. Should I take it again, or would a new score be essentially worthless since I have two years off? Any advice would be appreciated. I don't imagine that many people would have the answer has this is a very specific scenario... Thank you so much!!
