This is my first post so hi everyone!
I currently go to a CC in IL and I'm looking to apply to outside liberal arts schools.
I already have my instate schools but I want to apply to outside schools as well.
I'm looking for a decent Biology/Biochem program, gives a good amount of scholarships since I might be paying for college by myself(both need and merit), and is LGBT friendly.
However, I don't think I will be applying to the top schools. I failed Business calc(4 credits) last semester and I'm taking two classes over the summer to bring my grade up(8 credits total). I used to be a business major but then I changed it to science(Bio or Biochem). I plan to take regular calc instead in the spring semester. I also applied to be a biology lab assistant at my school. Currently I'm learning a new instrument since I played violin for three years in high school and I'm looking for volunteer opportunities that surround environmental issues since I like visiting forest preserves and want to help restore them. I'm not sure what I want to do at my school but I think I might want to do something community service related or science related.
The reason my extracurriculars was so limited my first year was that my parents would never let m use the car so I couldn't go. I only went to work and that's all.
I also plan to go to grad school since the field I'm interested in is Synthetic Biology specifically Genetic Engineering.
What schools would fit me best?
