I am currently attending the Colorado School of Mines but will be transferring next fall because I was diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease in the past year and, to be honest, I need by mom right now. I have a 3.54 at Mines right now, so according to my advisor there's a good chance that I should be able to get into tech. What I'm worried about is selecting a good university with a statistics program (not math, not actuary, not applied math) within 3.5 hours from Metro GA who will take my credits (Diff eq, linear algebra, comp sci, prob & stat).
I already know that this thread will make a good percentage of people mad because tech is a 1st tier school and theoretically will have better STEM programs including statistics. However, I do plan on going to grad school and UGA's stats program is ranked higher according to http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-science-schools/statistics-rankings/page+4 Any opinions on this? Does grad ranking correlate with undergrad?
Or if anyone has any other options I would love to hear them! I am looking to stat under $30k a year, but if you know a school who is a bit higher and hands out scholarships I would certainly like to hear about them.
