I'm a sophomore majoring in biochemistry at a big public university (~35000 students) in texas. My gpa is 3.71.
One of reasons I want to transfer is no public transportation at my city. I can't drive, and there are no buses or trains in my city, so I always have to ask my friends to take me to the grocery store, which is very inconvenient.
Another reason is that I'm paying out of state tuition at my school, and I think it doesn't worth to pay so much money for a low ranking public university. Also, I don't like big classes. Most of my classes are about 100-200 students. I'm thinking of changing my major to chemical engineering (not decided yet).
I'm looking for the schools with good location, small classes, and good biochemistry or chemical engineering program.
I like California because of the weather. I have applied to USC and UCs. I know it's hard for me to get into UCs as an out-of-state student. I don't care if the school is far away from home because my parents are not living in the US. My parents can afford ~30k tuition for a year. Private schools are better as they are more generous to give out financial aid than public schools.
Any good college suggestion for me?
