Hi all,
I recently finished my associates degree during the Fall 2016 semester in BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION and am trying to gauge how well my application will stand up as a transfer.
Here are my stats:
HS
2.85 GPA
1340/1600 SAT
College 1 (top 200 USNews lol)
1 Semester
12 credits
2.35 GPA
Finished with 2 Fs
I was simply not prepared for college coming out of high school. I had been a terrible student since middle school and am pretty sure I got into my first college solely off of my SAT scores and extracurriculars. Transferred out after my first semester
Community College (Virginia)
4 Semesters
58 credits
Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.70 GPA
Struggled early on. I finished with another F after my first semester there, bringing my total up to 3. I retook or took the course equivalents for all three classes and ended up getting an A in all of them. My studies have been on an upward trajectory since my first semester. I made the dean's list twice and was a presidential scholar (4.0 GPA for the semester) during my last year. Finished with 15 As, 3 Bs and one C in Biology 101 that I got during my first year. I did get an A in Biology 102 during my last semester.

I am mostly concerned about the bad grades I got early on. They have eliminated me from participating in Virginia's Guaranteed Admission Agreements so I'm going to be praying over my applications like everyone else. In my essays and personal statement I tried emphasizing the growth I experienced during my two years at community college. I also went into detail over what went wrong in each of the three classes I failed. Do I have a legitimate chance in getting into any of the 5 schools I listed?
