Am I doing this right?

I'm not going to be applying for transfer until probably the Fall 2017 semester, but had questions that I thought could possibly be answered here. Myself and my sister are the first people in our family since either side of my parents came to the US in the 1910s to go for a bachelor's degree, so I'm a bit at a loss for people to ask questions to LOL I attend Oakland Community College in southeast Michigan. I have been enrolled since Fall 2013, with a 3.85 GPA, but have taken very few credits. Approximately 15 credits were received through my AP scores, and 15 more taken at OCC for 30 total. The reason for few credits had to do primarily with focus on a fully-accredited vocational/trade school I attended in January 2015. I finished JUST outside those chosen for a job (142 attended, 25 got selected) and will be returning in January 2016 to try again. I had to skip winter 2015 semester and will be skipping winter 2016 semester as a result… I'd rather not say exactly what the job is, however if I am selected for it (and my odds are quite high the second go-around) I would be one of only about 220 with the very elite job in the world. I would continue going to school despite the job. It would look very good on an app. It's complicated lol This fall semester I am taking 15 credit hours... Bio, Math, Abnormal Psych, Pol-Sci, PE... I am looking to be accepted in the Mental Health/Social Work Associate's program at OCC, and graduate with an AAS in Mental Health/Social Work in Winter 2017. I would take 18 credits in Fall '16 (Two in-program, Stats, Science) and 17 in Winter '17 (Two in-program, Required Psych, and a four-credit transferable class), giving me at minimum 55 transferable credits when I applied to transfer for a BA in Psychology. I would also have the Michigan Transfer Agreement endorsement FWIW. My math is not hot. I have a W (my only one) in a College Algebra course. I haven't taken a serious math course since Junior year of high school despite my pretty good ACT score on the math. My CC placement test put me in Beginning and Intermediate Algebra this year, a non-transferable course to most universities. Looking through the syllabus it should be a breeze for me. I will be taking Statistics next fall, which does transfer and satisfies my MTA requirement. HS Stats 3.2 UW GPA 3.4 W GPA 28 ACT Composite (32 E, 30 M, 26 R, 23 S) Fairly competitive school My EC's range from good (serve on BOD w/500 volunteer hours/year at large nonprofit) to fantastic (the above job), though admittedly it's a fairly short list. The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor is, and always has been, the dream school. Other schools I'm looking at are UPenn and Columbia, with Michigan State and Wayne State as safeties... I was rejected to UMich (expectedly so) out of HS. What are my chances, assuming I keep up the good work in CC? Will my odd time off make a difference? Will my math shoot me in the foot? What should I work on most to increase my chances? Am I asking too many questions? :) Thanks in advance.
