Currently a sophomore at Hunter College
- Part of the Hunter Scholars Program
- Deans List fall+spring semester 2014-2015
- GPA: 3.738 (plan to raise this hopefully)
- SAT: 1990 (M:700ish CR&W: 600ish each [don't remember exact numbers]
- High School GPA: 3.68 unweighted (3.75 weighted)
- Interned at local government over the past summer, tutor, christian club, (I should do more....)
Schools I've been told to look at are:
+ Wellesley College
+ Mount Holyoke
+ Smith College
+ Emory
+ Bowdoin
+ Cornell
+ Amherst
+ Williams
+ Boston College
+ Swarthmore
+ Middlebury
+ NYU
+ Tufts University
+ Northwestern
I'm almost certain that most of these schools are out of my reach. I was accepted into NYU as a freshmen but I wasn't sure what area of study I wanted to pursue at the time and didn't want to spend 40k+ per year when I wasn't sure what I wanted. But now it's not a problem. My only goal is to get into the best school I can with my grades (isn't it everyone's goal though? :P)
So basically, being brutally honest is there anything I can do to better my chances at getting accepted at these schools? More specifically at Mt. Holyoke, Wellesley and NYU. These schools are amazing but my grades are not, people with better grades get rejected all the time, so should I even bother applying to these schools?
D: any feedback would be much appreciated!!
