I recently got into USC for econ with a 3.92 Gpa as a transfer. My acceptance came with a conditional paragraph which stated that my admission may be rescinded if I do not meet a 3.5 gpa this quarter or if i get below a 2.0 in any single class I am taking. As of right now, I am taking accounting, macroecon, and architecture. I am worried that accounting, which is not a prereq for my major, will bring my overall GPA below a 3.5 in the case that I get around a 2.9 in the class while getting around 3.7's in my other 2 classes. Could anyone tell me how strict USC is on rescinding transfer admissions, and if I am in jeopardy of being rescinded? Thanks

Will I be able to transfer with 2 Fs on my transcript?
I currently a freshman in college and attend a university in Miami and I'm about to finish my second semester. I am transferring to a university in Chicago. Since I am still an undergraduate, I had to send my high school transcript and my first semester grades from this school I'm attending in Miami as well. My first semester grades were all As and I had one B. My GPA was a 3.6. But this semester I may be failing 2 classes and I tried to withdraw from them but my advisor told me I wouldn t be able to since I receive VA benefits. She told me I need to take the F so I can just retake the course instead of withdrawing and owing more money to the school. So my question is: will the school I m transferring to reject me once they see I have 2 Fs on my final transcript? I would like to retake them at the school I m transferring to in Chicago. Or should I tell them ahead of time?
thank you so much!

Transferring From Binghamton to NYU (CAS)?
To start off, I'm a senior in high school and recently got my rejection letter from NYU. It's been my dream school since I was very young but due to circumstances (going to a very rigorous school in the city, dealing with multiple personal problems, etc) my high school GPA is low, like an 84/100 (my guidance counselor said it was about a 3.0). I'm going to Binghamton for now because their in state tuition is the cheapest, and it's a pretty good school. I'd like to experience what it's like to be in a college campus, but I'm not sure if I will enjoy the isolation (I'm a city person and grew up/live in NYC). I'm determined to work hard and get myself together in college and would appreciate any helpful tips from other people who have successfully transferred to NYU, so that I can plan my academics and extracurriculars accordingly by the time I start my freshmen year in college. I'm planning to major in International Relations with a minor in political science btw.

which school is the best for me to transfer OUT OF?
Hi guys :)
so I've been admitted to NYU, U of M, and Vanderbilt. All three are Econ major (in CAS, LSA). I plan on transferring after one year to Brown. Which of these skls will best benefit me in terms of preparing me to transfer?? Vandy has the smallest class size so might be easier to know professors well, n get good recs. But it's also hard to get GPA there i've heard??
I know many would advise me that it is bad to think about transfer even before I go to college, but brown is my dream skl (rejected RD this year)
My stats are as following:
SAT: 2400
SATll: 800 maths 2, 730 physics
ECs: didn't have many. I put down weekly volunteering+drawing…. sounds so weak lolll. would weak high school ECs harm me a lot?? How can I make up for it in college?
Any advice is helpful!! thx :)

Could really use some advice...
Please don't stone me for sounding pretentious but I'm really not sure what to do. I'm not asking for a therapy session, but just flat out what you would most likely do given the pro's and con's.
I got accepted to UCLA, UCSD, UCD, and UCI. I'm pre-med and want to pursue public health before applying to MD schools. I got into UCLA as psych, UCSD as global health into warren, Davis as psych, UCI as psych and social behavior but have the opportunity to switch to the BS in public health sciences with Regents and the Honors program.
My living situation at home is very not good- everyone that I know is telling me to move out. I live close to UCLA and USC (40m one way) (waiting to hear back from USC) and when I tell people "I dont know about going to UCLA (even though it has been my dream school my whole life)" people straight up tell me, how do you not want to go to UCLA? And, "you belong there".
Here's the problem, I will be living on my own (which I need to study and focus and not be in such a toxic environment at home) if I go to: UCI, UCSD, UCD. I would have to take out a student loan if I were to move out for UCLA- which isn't good but isn't terrible...
But my parents said they are willing to pay up to 35k for USC and that I would take out a loan for the remainder. I applied to USC as a Neuroscience BS and if I would get in I would really want to go there but would have to commute 45m one way while still living at home.
Also, the reason I picked psych is because I feel like I would excel most with this major GPA wise and in preparation for the MCAT. But I know that priority enrollment for science classes depends on whether you're pursuing a BS (which I would be at UCI or USC).
I really want to go to UCLA, UCI, or USC, but I feel invisible at UCLA even though I love the school's research and courses offered, UCI I love for the public health BS major with the endless research and work studies I get with the honors program and the major itself as well as having grown up in Irvine, USC I love because I feel like I'm not alone- the professors are more one on one and you're getting what you pay for. But I'm not sure about more loans in addition to the med school loans I would have.
What are my options as to how to proceed about this?

To transfer or not to transfer? (GPA Reasons)
I'm a sophomore who currently attends St. Louis University and I enjoy being here. My only problem is that I'm currently in the process of building up my GPA. I started out with a 2.15 when I was pre-med last year but and now I have a 2.4. After this semester, I should be able to finish with a 2.7 or 2.8. I'm considering transferring to the University of Cincinnati which is closer to my hometown for the following reasons:
- I won't have to keep my old GPA from SLU and start out with a new one.
- Cheaper because it's in-state and a public university.
- Better business program and an easier curriculum compared to SLU.
Are these some good reasons to transfer or not?

What are my chances? (University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, Ohio University, Ohio State)
I am a sophomore at SLU and I will finish with between a 2.7-2.8 GPA this year. Do I have a good chance of getting into University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, Ohio University, and Ohio State?

Transferring to Brown?
Hello everyone.
I would love to hear some advice on my situation if possible.
I am currently an honors student at a top-25 university. I really am enjoying my time at my current college, but I am torn for the following reason.
I came into college without a clear path for what I wanted to do in my future. By chance and out of a whim of curiosity, I decided to take a class in a new language. I never expected to fall in love with a language, its history, and its culture, but I believe I have. The problem is that the program here is very small: only four sequential language courses and a scattering of history courses, but ones taught in English. Taking these courses unfortunately only culminates in a minor.
I have done some research for colleges that offer a major in this program, and Brown is one of the 15 or so in the U.S.
If you think that this is a viable reason for transferring and if I am a solid candidate for such a great school, please let me know. I will post some of my stats to give you an idea of my academic caliber.
HS GPA: 4.0 UW
Projected College GPA in first semester: 3.7-8
ACT: 32 (First try)
SAT: Never taken
I've also heard that Brown takes financial aid into consideration for transfers, and I would not need it.
Some additional information:
I did apply to Brown as a senior under influence by my parents, but my application was admittedly spur of the moment and last minute, and I was rejected as expected. I am also trying to find out if they retain and look at old applications just out of curiosity. I did, however, receive acceptances from a few other ivies.
Thank you for your time and have a great day :)

Retaking a course
I am a journalism major at a cc and I have a 3.77 GPA currently. I am going to get a B in sociology and along with all my other courses, it is going to put my GPA at a 3.79. I have been wanting to keep my GPA as high as possible, for this reason, I was considering failing the course and retaking it for an A. I don't know if it looks better to take the B or to fail it and retake it for a better grade. If I do retake it and get an A, my GPA would be at 3.93. I am planning on applying to UCLA, Cal and USC. Can someone please help me.
Also, will retaking the course affect me later on down the road when I try to apply for Law school?

Got into multiple reach schools.... Conflicted.
Hey there,
I am a 2nd year transfer student who applied to a bunch of reach Uni's.
My GPA was a 3.38 and I have a 32 on the ACT.
I got into University of Michigan-AA, Kings College London, UCD, UCSB, UCSC, UCSD, and UCR.
I was not expecting this. I am incredibly conflicted on where I want to go. My parents keep on asking me every day and my answer seems to change depending on my mood. Thats how close it is.
Anyways, I have narrowed it down to the following.
UCSB[Would be UCD, but they suspended my application for a missing art class): Pretty decent chemistry department, I'm a neurobio but I guess thats done through the same college. I'm an introvert so I dont know how well I will fit into the party scene. Its fairly close to my home city which is both a blessing and a curse... I just started dating a really sweet girl but I dont know how much I should let that influence my choice.(20k)
Kings College London: Highest of the three by prestige. A cool looking Uni in the heart of london with a very rich history. As someone raised in Southern California. I dont know how large the culture shock would be. This is probably the school I've been leaning towards the most. ($30k)
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor: I was not expecting this one at all. Met none of the admission req's and submitted my transcript late. Still got in to LSA as an undeclared. Considering changing my major to mathematics so that undeclared bit could be really important. Seems to fit most with my geeky personality. ($46k)
Although money is a factor, I come from a fairly well off family and can attend any of these without enormous dept.

I want to transfer out of Cornell ILR
So I've been here for a little while now, almost a full year. I'm miserable. I want to leave Cornell altogether and go get a fresh start. I would like to hear from other people in ILR who transferred out. Where did you transfer to? What is your new major? Are you happier than you were before?

Suspension vs. transfer GPA
Long story short, all excuses aside, I am being suspended from Texas A&M with a 1.8 cumulative gpa. I am .2 away from getting back on track, but my suspension has ran its course.
I plan to transfer to a community college to get a grip & work towards something I want as opposed to forcing myself into something I wasn't happy with in the first place. My transfer gpa (prior community college grades combined with A&M grades) is a 2.5. Will schools, even community colleges, pay attention to the acceptable transfer grade, or the suspension from the University? Would I even be able to attend community college?

Transfer GPA.
I have a question regarding how your GPA transfers when applying for a four-year institution. I went to CC right out of high-school, and basically stopped going to class and failed everyone one. I joined the Air Force shortly after... four years later, I'm going to a different CC, I have a 3.1 GPA. When applying to a four year school, will they only consider the GPA of the current institution I'm attending, or will they average it out with both CCs.
Thank you.

Top Outdoorsy Colleges for a transfer from Georgetown
Hey everyone,
So I am currently a freshman at Georgetown University, and I am looking to transfer for a couple of reasons:
1) I am originally from Maine, and I really do miss the opportunities to be outside. I have enjoyed living in a city for a change, but Georgetown's campus does not have a lot of green space and is never quiet (mainly due to the airplane traffic). Additionally, I'm usually off campus climbing, hiking, etc most weekends, but the opportunities to do so around DC are limited. For instance, I'm on the climbing team and we have to commute two hours just to get to the nearest climbing gym.
2) This kind of goes with the first reason, but the students at Georgetown are very driven and pre-professional. There's nothing wrong with that in and of itself, but I'd prefer a school with a more laid back and intellectual student body.
3) Naturally, because Georgetown is in DC, students often go out into the city. Because of this, the sense of community isn't very strong on campus, and I'd prefer somewhere with a tighter sense of community among both students and faculty.
So what colleges do you think would be best?
I don't have much of a preference for size, although I think the transition to a smaller school would be easier for a transfer. In terms of location, one of the reasons I came to Georgetown was to explore somewhere different from home, and I still would like to do so. I'd be particularly interested going out west, but there are also so many good schools back east as well. I am also planning on majoring in Computer science (and philosophy/history if I have space).
In terms of admissions, my GPA is a 3.74, and I'd prefer to go to a college which is of a similar academic quality as Georgetown.
Finally, all of the admissions deadlines for next fall have already come and gone, which means that the earliest I could matriculate somewhere is next spring or more likely the fall of 2017. I'm worried that if I transferred after my sophomore year I wouldn't have enough time to spend at my future university. Would it be worth it to take a leave of absence and apply next spring?
Thanks!

deposit due before all decisions are out
Hi there, I applied as a fall 2016 transfer student to a bunch of schools. So far I've been accepted to 3 schools, and they all require deposits by mid-May. Meanwhile, other schools (like Tufts and Northeastern) won't even be releasing decisions until mid-May or even June. Every school seems to have a different timeline for transfer admissions, so this must be a fairly common problem. How do people usually handle this?

Transferring to Ole Miss second semester of freshman year
Hey y'all! I am a senior in high school and i got deferred fall semester but admitted spring semester at ole miss next year. is I got into the College of Charleston but i really don't want to go there and i desperately want to go to ole miss. It really sucks because i have to wait for all fall while everyone is rushing and meeting new friends while I'm attending a school i do not want to go to. i already put my deposit down for spring at ole miss and set on going there. Long story short, do you think it will be hard to for me to transfer second semester when everyone already has met new friends and are in sororities. i have a few friends at ole miss but i just have a feeling it is going to be hard for me to fit in second semester!

What exactly happens when you transfer credits from one community college to another?
I'm enrolling in a new community college and I'm wondering if transferring my credits from my previous community college also means transferring my gpa, withdrawals, and dropped classes to my new community college transcript. I just don't want to have to retake classes that I've already passed, but I would rather do that than have all of my garbage transcript follow me to my new college.
